Law through a Canadian military lens, the subject of speech Wednesday

The CIC Nipissing District branch brings together interested area members to consider international issues and questions related to Canada’s foreign policy. 

Tomorrow night it will hear from Lieutenant Colonel Marie-Ève Tremblay, of the Office of the Judge Advocate General, Canadian Armed Forces. 

She will be Canadian International Council’s Nipissing Branch’s guest speaker as part of its winter speaker series.

Her subject will be "Law Through A Canadian Military Lens – A Canadian Armed Forces Female Senior Officer’s Experiences Providing Legal Advice In A Military Uniform."

"Being a woman in the Canadian forces is an amazing experience and environment," she told CKAT. "As a legal advisor, there are a lot of great opportunities one can face."

Tremblay has experience in Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and held senior leadership positions in, 

"There are a lot of challenges and great adventures to look forward to but I also want to talk about military justice because there are myths that grow around the military system."

The event at 176 Lakeshore Drive is free but you must register.
