His name may not be instantly recognisable like Brad Pit or George Clooney or even Dave Foley's but Landy Cannon is working hard on changing all that with the help of his friends Andrew Cymek and Bridgette Kingsley and the sci-fi movie the trio is currently working on here in the Bay.

Cannon, also known as ‘Kid’, has enjoyed a fan base and some success following the release of the Dark Rising I and hopes to build on that with the success of Dark Rising II currently in production and immediately following that the TV series.



His favourite saying is “When Acting, being relaxed and making the wrong choice is still better than being nervous and making the right choice,” and although Cannon, 38, was lucky to have been in the right spot at the right time to land this role, he has paid his dues. In fact he continues to pay them acknowledging that there have been a number of changes in the industry making career advancement that much more eventful.



The actor originally from the Ancaster, Ontario He is also happy to reprise his character Jason Parks for Dark Rising II because there has been growth for his character and he is able to bring more to the movie.

He also says for young people who are looking for a career in the industry they need to understand that it is hard business to work in you have to study and when you do get an opportunity you capitalise on it.



At the same time Cannon knows that the business is just that a business and it is not just about having the ability to act it is also about accounting and marketing your product. Something he hasn’t been dedicated to in his career to date but says watching his friend Kingsley in action on this project is inspires him to invest more time in his career.
