It's raining money at Ivan's Restaurant...for a good cause

The previous owner had umbrellas that hung upside from the ceiling, each umbrella was tagged with a charity and customers would toss coins into them

For some people opening an umbrella indoors is bad luck.

People have believed for hundreds of years that it will result in bad luck “raining" down on you.

But in this case, it is good luck raining "up" for some local charities.

Kristina Walkling, the owner of Ivan’s Restaurant, tells BayToday, "We are doing a throwback this month from a program that we did here at the restaurant in the 80’s to help raise money for charities in our community.

"The previous owner had umbrellas that hung upside from the ceiling, each umbrella was tagged with a charity and customers would toss coins into them. We've hung some in the restaurant in the hopes of helping to raise money during this season of giving!"

You can find Ivan's Restaurant at 1867 O'Brien Street.
