The investigation continues into a two-vehicle collision outside of Rutherglen which has left two Ottawa people in hospital, one in serious condition.

North Bay OPP said the collision took place shortly before 9 a.m. yesterday on Highway 17, approximately five five kilometers west of Rutherglen, in Bonfield Twp.

Mandy Green, 19, of Ottawa is currently in serious condition and was transferred yesterday from the North Bay General Hospital to St. Joseph Health Center in Sudbury.

Green was the only passenger in one of the two vehicles involved in the collision. Kaija Murphy, a 21-year-old woman from Thunder Bay, was driving westbound on Hwy 17 in a white 1991 Honda Prelude, and Green was her passenger.

Bader Khudher, a 21-year-old man from Ottawa, was the lone occupant of a white 1990 Honda Accord, driving eastbound in the westbound lane when the two vehicles collided head-on.

Murphy and Khudher are both listed in stable condition at the North Bay General Hospital.
