If you are passionate about culture and entertainment in the City, here's a chance to make a real difference.

The Capitol Centre is looking to fill vacancies on its volunteer Board of Directors.

"In an effort to properly represent the diverse community that we serve, the Capitol Centre welcomes interested applicants from all walks of life to help best ensure a board that reflects diversity with respect to ethnicity, gender, culture, and areas of expertise," says a news release.

Directors on the Capitol Centre Board serve in a governance capacity. They set the organization's direction, develop policy and undertake operational and financial oversight.

The Board meets once each month, usually 10 months of the year.  Board members with various backgrounds serve on standing committees such as Fundraising, EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion), Sustainability, Property and Operations, and other ad-hoc Committees.

The Capitol Centre is home to the Betty Speers Theatre and the WKP Kennedy Gallery.

"As the cultural heart of North Bay, we offer our patrons, artists, and community members an environment that inspires, creates, and showcases performing and visual art forms," says the release. "We are dedicated to enriching the cultural life of the community through arts development, education, and programming."

An integral part of being on the Capitol Centre Board of Directors is a dedication to being actively involved in fundraising, participation, and attendance at Capitol Centre events.

"This is indeed a challenging time for us as we begin to navigate the post-pandemic world," it states.

Applicants are invited to submit a letter of interest to the Chair of the Nominating Committee, Patricia Spencer.
