The OPP says a gas leak has closed Highway 17 in both directions at Mattawa.
It's closed west of Moores Lane to Donald Street in the community.
The OPP, Papineau-Cameron Fire Dept. and the Mattawa Fire Department are on scene.
The Papineau-Cameron fire dept. was responsible for the entire detour set up and ensuring firefighters directed traffic in the proper direction
The reopening time is unknown.

A note for those heading east on Highway 17 today — the highway is closed in Mattawa, east and west of Chenier Road.
The OPP announced the road closure on their Twitter account at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
