A couple of hunters became the prey early Friday morning when they were stopped for liquor violations at a R.I.D.E check in North Bay. While conducting a search of the pair's vehicle an inquisitive constable found a cache of illegal drugs.

COCAINE AND HASH SEIZED IN R.I.D.E. CHECK

Anishinabek Police Service (A.P.S.) and the North Bay OPP conducted a R.I.D.E. check on the North Bay Bypass at Frost Street, overnight, when hunters were stopped for a Liquor License Act (L.L.A.) violation. Constable J.P. Spence of the A.P.S. discovered a large quantity of cocaine and hashish during a search.

The OPP Drug Enforcement Section was called in to assist in the investigation.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Friday October 10th, 2003, A.P.S. seized over 68 grams of cocaine and 94 grams of hashish from a 1996 green GMC pickup truck. A minimal amount of marihuana and $725.00 cash was also seized during the R.I.D.E. check.

The occupants of the truck were on their way north for a hunting trip. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is just over $13,000.00.

Douglas Indoe, 45, of Hanover, Ontario and 34 year old Dean Burnett of Durham, Ontario are currently charged under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (C.D.S.A.).

Indoe is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance 5(1) C.D.S.A.,
and possession of a controlled substance 4(1) C.D.S.A.

Burnett is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance 5(1) C.D.S.A.,
and possession of a controlled substance 4(1) C.D.S.A.
