The month of March was a busy one when it came to residential sales activity.

The North Bay Real Estate Board is reporting some impressive numbers for the month.

The board reported the sale of 113 units in March of 2017 which was up 10.8% compared to a year earlier and marked the best month of March for sales since 2012.

On a year-to-date basis, home sales totaled 266 units over the first three months of the year, rising 23.7% from the same period in 2016.

“We are up 23% from last year, which is very very encouraging,” said local realtor Steve Liddle who gave the update via Facebook

“It just shows great confidence in the real estate market here in North Bay. We do hear a lot of negative comments in the media about job losses and job cuts but when it comes down to it, people are choosing North Bay to be their home and we are really seeing that in the numbers.”

Liddle says the market continues to be stable, although still below the market peak back in 2012.

“The market is very consistent and we are very encouraged moving forward,” said Liddle
