The North Bay Trappers Major Midget AA Hockey Team has earned the James Kelly Memorial Award for 2019 Team of the Year.

The team went undefeated in 2018-19 regular season play, achieving a 36-0 record during Great North Midget League (GNML) play.

Of the six losses during the year, three were against the eventual Telus Cup National Championship Team, the Toronto Nats.

During the Ontario Hockey AAA Championships, the team went undefeated in round-robin play, ultimately losing in the final to the Toronto Nats, thereby earning the silver medal. As previously mentioned, the Nats went on the win the 2019 National Championship Telus Cup in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
