The driver of the motor vehicle has been extricated from the vehicle by Sudbury Fire Department, and is conscious.
Police are reporting injuries to the driver but they are unknown at this time.
The roadway remains blocked.

Highway 17 will be closed until further notice while emergency crews work at the scene.
Alternate route is through Garson/Coniston Road.

Greater Sudbury Police are en route to a collision on Highway 17 and the Coniston railroad crossing involving a train and a motor vehicle.
GSPS have tweeted that there are injuries reported and the OPP are already on the scene.
