Hewitt remains School Board Chair

At its Annual Organizational Meeting on December 18, 2012, Near North District School Board Trustee Kathy Hewitt was acclaimed as Chair of the Board.

Mrs. Hewitt was acclaimed for a third consecutive one year term. At the same meeting, Trustee David Thompson was acclaimed as Vice-Chair for a third one year term.

The Near North District School Board provides education for more than 10,000 students in numerous communities across a wide geographic region. The Board operates 41 schools including 7 secondary schools and community education programs.

The Board of Trustees is comprised of 8 elected trustees, a First Nations representative elected by First Nations in the area and a student representative elected by the Student Senate of the Board.
