The Kashechewan Relief Program has released a list of needed items for the campaign.

Further information is available in the following news release issued today by Nipissing First Nation and the city of North Bay:

Nipissing First Nation and the City of North Bay would like to express their gratitude to the North Bay and area community for their support and generous donations to the Kashechewan Relief Program that was launched on November 8th.

Not only is this program a huge success – generating donations from local citizens, children, schools and community organizations, but it also demonstrates the selfless way that our community works together to help others during a time of need.

A large shipment of the donated items has already been made to Sudbury and distributed to various areas that are a temporary home to the Kashechewan people.

Arrangements are being made for another shipment next week.

The items donated and received were welcomed and needed by the people of Kashechewan, however, they are very much in need of the following items:

 Baby clothes, diapers and bottles.
 Toddler clothes for boys and girls.
 Winter clothes for babies to adults (i.e. jackets, sweaters, hats, mitts)
 School supplies and activities.
 Duffle bags, hockey bags, luggage (to pack & transport donated items to their destinations)
 Traditional food such as moose, fish, and goose (Nipissing First Nation Band Office only)

A very special thanks is extended to Creative Learning and Northgate Square for being drop-off locations for these donations. Thanks also goes out to Dwayne Nashkawa (Nipissing First Nation), Des Anthony (Creative Learning), Heather Ward (The Red Cross North Bay), Phil Richardson (Northgate Square), and City of North Bay Fire Chief Ted McCullough for their support and efforts in helping to organize and launch this program.

Most importantly, thanks, again, to those who have opened their hearts and made a donation. Your kindness and generosity is much appreciated by all.
