An online think tank called Aha says North Bay's Mike Harris is the province's best premier since 1981, and that among the current crop of provincial premiers, Kathleen Wynne is the worst.

In its September 2015 edition it says "Our mission is to help people make sense of the world, since there is no time, far too much information, and too little context to deal with everything from ISIS and Putin to job worries and the price of oil.

"Ontario’s Mike Harris is the best premier since 1981, Pauline Marois the worst, based on fiscal and economic outcomes. The top ranked current premier is Brad Wall, the worst is Kathleen Wynne. Conservatives dominate the top ranks, with nine of the top 10 premiers and two thirds of the top 20.

"Looking at the Premiers Score Card at the end of this report, what were Harris’ strengths and weaknesses in our analysis? He ran a lean government, with low revenue and spending levels, and slow growth in spending and public sector jobs. Economic growth and private job creation were high and there was strong in-migration to Ontario from other provinces. His weaknesses were in the areas of the unemployment rate, which exactly matched changes in the Canadian average, and business investment, which still ranked a respectable 24th."
