Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis has a message for the North Bay Bulldogs while they wait to get back on the field.

The Bulldogs connected with Lewis through Cameo; an online platform that allows fans and organizations to pay for athletes to send them a video message.

In the Bulldogs message Lewis say while everyone deals with the pandemic there are two ways to look at it, worry while you’re in it or work while you’re going through it.

“If you’re not working out if you ain’t doing something every day in your house then guess what, somebody else is getting better. It’s just the way it is in our business, right? So when you think about what you can be doing, don’t just sit at home, do not just sit at home and do nothing,” said.

He told the team they need to be ready and workout.

“So I’m going to challenge the North Bay Bulldogs to go on my website, go on my Instagram, and go to teamnoexcuses.tv and join this ‘card’ workout, I’m doing three workouts a day, they say I’m retired. You only retire from the game, you never retire from life,” he said.

The message was posted Thursday to the Bulldog’s Facebook page.

Bulldogs president Mark Mathon felt it was a great time for an inspiring message from a former NFL Star.

"I know its tough waiting this out knowing we should be on the field by now," said Mathon via the Bulldogs Facebook page.

"Ray Lewis is one of the toughest linebackers every to play the game and no matter what the circumstances he was always ready. Please watch the following message from the newest friend of the Bulldogs."

Mathon says the initiative was coordinated independently from the Bulldogs by himself and coach Josh Ricker as a "pick me up" for the players.

According to Ray Lewis' Cameo site, his fee is $300 USD ($418 CDN)
