A fire has broken out in a field along Highway 11 near the Powassan overpass near the Clark Street exit.
The fire started before 5 p.m. this afternoon.
One witness told BayToday.ca that it appeared to be hay bales on fire.
The Powassan Fire Department was on the scene and a witness says it appears under control now.
Another source tells BayToday.ca that the fire started on a tractor which was carrying a load of hay.
Powassan Mayor Peter McIsaac says Broad Spectrum has been called in to assess the road and dispose of any debris.
