Grand Chief to be elected today

The Chiefs of the 42 member First Nations represented by the Union of Ontario Indians will replace Grand Council Chief Earl Commanda today. Commanda resigned in August following a Justice Circle review for improper use of a UOI-issued credit card.

The Chiefs of the 42 member First Nations represented by the Union of Ontario Indians will replace Grand Council Chief Earl Commanda today.

Commanda resigned in August following a Justice Circle review for improper use of a UOI-issued credit card.

Chief John Beaucage Wasauksing First Nation and Michael Hardy, Jr. Biinjitiwaabik Zaagining (Rocky Bay) First Nation have been nominated for the position.


Results of the election outcome will posted once a winner is declared.
