Goodwill on a hill

A local construction company showed some goodwill this week when Stock Transportation school buses were struggling to get up the hill on McKee Drive going up to Ski Club Road in North Bay.

On January 25, it was a typical freezing cold day with icy roads and that combination caused issues for school buses taking that route.

"More than one of our buses had a hard time getting up McKee Dr. toward Ski Club Rd. in North Bay," Stock Transportation stated on its Facebook page.

However, the concern could be seen by the construction crews from Venasse Building Group Inc., who were working on the site of the former WJ Fricker School.

"When one of our buses got stuck on the hill, to the rescue came Dan in the loader from Venasse Building Group Inc at the old Fricker school," Stock Transportation added.

"Dan put a load of sand down on the hill so our bus could get out, then he waited until we were clear and put some more down at the top of the hill."

The extra sanding worked and the bus was on its way.

However, Stock Transportation wanted to recognize the construction companies' goodwill.

"So our Signing Authority Laura McMaster Holmes decided to return that act of kindness with one of her own and deliver some hot coffee and doughnuts to their team Wednesday," the Stock Transportation post continued.

"It really makes our day when we get the chance to interact with other businesses that have the same culture and values as ours - Safety, Community, People, and Excellence. Thank you for going the extra mile, we appreciate it!"

We also appreciate the opportunity to share some good news these days too.
