The Downtown Improvement Area is introducing FoodFest to complement Bay Block Party which involves two components.

Spokesperson Rae Brenne told CKAT the first is a food court with vendors set up in the Guardian Drugs parking lot.

The second component is a self-guided downtown food tour.

“You’ll be able to purchase tickets, each ticket will cost $6, and there’s a few different restaurants that you can visit to redeem that ticket for a menu item,” she says.

The tickets will be available at the food tour tent, which will be set up in the food court area.

The headlining band for Bay Block Party is Juno Award-winning artist The Dirty Nil.

The Dirty Nil is a Canadian alternative rock band from Hamilton who won the Juno Award for "Breakthrough Group of the Year" at the Juno Awards in 2017.

The festival will host a fully staged performance area, with musical acts scheduled throughout the day, craft beer vendors and family-friendly activities
