A 16-year-old North Bay girl has been charged with weapons-related charges following an incident Wednesday night. The incident began around 10 p.m.
A 16-year-old North Bay girl has been charged with weapons-related charges following an incident Wednesday night.

The incident began around 10 p.m. when constables Penny Kerr and Gerry Martin of the North Bay Police Service received a call to go to a residence within the city.

The girl had allegedly used a knife to threaten people within the home, and then locked herself in the bathroom.

Police also alleged that she struck out at the same people. The girl eventually left the washroom and, on the way to the police station, threatened one of the officers with bodily harm.

She was charged with two counts of threatening, assault with a weapon and assault, possession of dangerous weapon and mischief. The girl, whose name cannot be mentioned due to the Criminal Youth and Justice Act, was kept in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
