Corbeil's Ben Gaudreau and his Under-18 Team Canada teammates gave the local goalie lots of scoring support in a convincing 10-3 win over the Czech Republic at the World Under-18 Hockey Championship taking place in Texas this week.

Young Canadian phenom Connor Bedard led the offence with two goals and three assists.

While the score was lop-sided, the shots on goal were not as Canada oushot the Czechs only 34-32 as Gaudreau finished the quarterfinal win with 29 saves for his third straight win of the tournament taking place in Plano, Texas.

TSN broadcasters continued to rave about Gaudreau's success at the tournament since he did not play a game this year with the OHL canceling its season recently, and his hometown arenas never re-opening at all in 2021.

In his two round-robin games, Gaudreau faced 53 shots in his two starts allowing only four goals and making 49 saves for a 0.925 save percentage.

Gaudreau was in goal for Canada's 4-2 win over Latvia on April 28 and then was in goal for Canada's 5-2 win over Belarus on May 1.

Gaudreau and his Team Canada teammates will take on Team Sweden in the semi-final on May 5.
