Front yard musicians ready to celebrate Canada Day

The idea for these outdoor concerts came from Janet Zimbalatti, a violinist with the North Bay Symphony Orchestra
Fresh off their celebration of the beginning of summer, area musicians are tuning up for a socially distanced Canada Day event.

"We're excited to do another community performance for Canada Day," Leanne Miners told BayToday.

"At 6 p.m. on July 1st I hope everyone's neighbourhoods are filled with the sounds of our national anthem, followed by some famous Canadian folk-song melodies or other Canadian music."

The idea for these outdoor concerts came from Janet Zimbalatti, a violinist with the North Bay Symphony Orchestra, to keep the love of music available to neighbours despite the restrictions of COVID 19.

Now, Miners is inviting local musicians to join the North Bay Symphony and North Bay’s J.O.Y. Band by picking up an instrument or singing along from your front lawn or back deck to celebrate Canada Day.
