Friendship Powwow

The Aboriginal Family Support Program at the North Bay Indian Friendship hosted their annual ‘Honouring Our Children’ Powwow today.

3-year old Lucas Sutherland and his dad shared in the spirit of the dance together, not only does Lucas love to dance at the Powwows he also told Baytoday that he loves Hockey.

During the celebration participants took a moment away from the dancing to pay tribute to ‘The Elder’ Ruth Couchie. A plaque in honour of the Friendship Center co-founder was unveiled commemorating all the work she did to develop the centre and its children.
