This week will not be strike free in Ontario schools.

After rejecting the government's latest offer, AEFO, representing French-language elementary and high school teachers, says it will hold a province-wide strike this Thursday.

"On February 20, AEFO received an offer from the Employer Bargaining Agency -- representing the 12 French-language school boards -- and from the Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce," says a union news release. "The offer was frankly unacceptable for students and for AEFO."

AEFO is holding a one-day walkout every week, this week on Thursday, February 27.

The next negotiation date with the government and the EBA is scheduled for the next day.

"AEFO hopes the EBA and the government will not waste the bargaining team’s time. If they have students’ success at heart, AEFO hopes they will actively engage in a dialogue to conclude a winning deal for students, for AEFO members and for school boards,” says the release.
