(Leith Dunick, tbnewswatch.com).

Environment Canada is extending its freezing rain warning for:

  • North Bay - West Nipissing
  • New Liskeard - Temagami,
  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity,
  • Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet
  • Huntsville - Baysville
  • Bracebridge - Gravenhurst
  • Town of Parry Sound - Rosseau - Killbear Park
  • New Liskeard - Temagami
  • Témiscamingue

Freezing rain and ice pellets will change over to snow later this morning then to a messy mix of wet snow and some rain towards noon.

Appreciable ice accumulations in combination with brisk northeast winds gusting up to 50 km/h range may result in localized power outages due to fallen tree limbs and power lines this morning.

Conditions will slowly improve later today as the temperature edges to just above freezing.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
