It looks like North Bay will be just on the edge of a freezing rain event tomorrow. Environment Canada says there is a risk of freezing rain late in the afternoon with snow and ice pellet amounts from 5 to 10 cm.

Meanwhile, a freezing rain warning has been issued for:

  • Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet,
  • Huntsville - Baysville,

Freezing rain is expected to begin late Friday morning or early afternoon and last a few hours before changing to rain. Although freezing rain is expected to develop on Friday morning, it should change to rain as temperatures rise above zero in the afternoon. The rain is expected to persist until Saturday morning and may fall heavily at times.

Rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 mm are likely.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
