Franco Nord swears in new trustees

On Tuesday, November 15, Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord introduced the newly elected trustees during the inaugural ceremony and meeting.

In total17 people attended, including members of the administration.

The evening began with the national anthem performed in Ojibwe and French by the student choir from École élémentaire catholique Saints-Anges, the recognition of Indigenous territories and a Celebration of the Word presided by Father Gérald LaJeunesse who then blessed the trustees and the assembly.

The trustees were then invited to take their oath of office and sign the declaration of office.

"I would like to sincerely thank all our staff, stakeholders and students for their hard work, dedication and many contributions to the success of Franco-Nord," said Demers.."I look forward to pursuing our work with vigor and enthusiasm alongside the collaborative table, both locally and provincially, for the absolute benefit of the student."

Nicole Fournier, a trustee for the past 13 years, was elected to the position of vice-chair.

Serge Levac, Director of Education and Secretary-Treasurer of the Board, says he is proud to welcome each and every trustee at the beginning of this new four-year term.

"It is with great pleasure that the administrative team and I continue to work with Mr. Demers and the trustees, both new and experienced, to ensure the development and well-being of our French-language Catholic students."
