Found passed out at the wheel, North Bay man charged with impaired

North Bay OPP have charged a man, passed out at the wheel of his car, with impaired driving.

On June 4 at 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of someone slumped at the wheel on Alderdale Road in Chisholm Township. 

Officers found the vehicle and after speaking with the driver, placed him under arrest at the scene for impaired driving.  

Kevin Piper, 41, from North Bay, is charged with "Operation While Impaired" and "Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)."

Piper's license was suspended for 90-days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on June 22.

Meanwhile, on June 6, at 7 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle accident on Highway 11 in North Bay. 

Officers found a vehicle in the ditch with the driver uninjured. 

After speaking with the driver, officers placed him under arrest at the scene for impaired driving.  

Derek Mousseau, 35, from North Bay, is charged with "Operation While Impaired" and "Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)."

Mousseau's license was suspended for 90-days and the vehicle was impounded for sevendays. The driver was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on June 22,.

These incidents mark the 33rd and 34th drivers charged under the criminal impaired driving laws in the North Bay OPP Detachment area in the year 2021.
