Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement for:
- North Bay - West Nipissing,
- Greater Sudbury and vicinity,
- Temiskaming Shores - Temagami,
- Kirkland Lake - Englehart
There are currently high levels of air pollution due to smoke from ongoing forest fires.
Smoke plumes from active fires in northwestern Ontario and eastern Manitoba will continue to spread into the area. Poor air quality and reduced visibility are expected.
Partly cloudy skies with a 70 per cent chance of showers or thunderstorms this evening. Local smoke becoming fog patches overnight.
Southerly winds are expected to push the smoke northward out of the area on Wednesday.
If you or those in your care are exposed to wildfire smoke, consider taking extra precautions to reduce your exposure. Wildfire smoke is a constantly changing mixture of particles and gases which include many chemicals that can be harmful to your health.
