He's an unusual way to hold a meet the local election candidates.
On Wednesday, October 16, the Nipissing Area Food Roundtable will be hosting an event called Eat Think Vote from 6-9 pm at the Elk's Lodge in North Bay.
The idea is to spend time with candidates while grilling them on issues of importance to you.
These events are being coordinated by Food Secure Canada across the country leading up to the federal election. The goal is to help people understand how federal food policy affects us locally and bring these issues to the attention of local candidates.
Questions to the Nipissing-Timiskaming candidates will cover the topics of:
- Healthy School food: Student Nutrition Ontario - Nipissing, Muskoka, Parry Sound
- Sustainable food systems and farming: Wand Family Farm
- Food insecurity: North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit
- Indigenous food sovereignty: North Bay Indigenous Hub
Doors open at 6 and candidates will be available.
- 6:30-8:30: discussion, speakers, and Q/A with candidates
- 8:30-9 Candidates available to speak with participants
