Flags raised for local paramedics

'The role of paramedics has expanded to beyond emergency calls over the years, particularly in the area of Community Paramedicine, and we are very fortunate that in a time of need, the paramedics and the people who support them are there to answer the call'

Emergency Services were recognized during a ceremony at City Hall today.

In recognition of Paramedic Services Week, a flag was raised and a proclamation was read at North Bay City Hall Tuesday morning.

The theme of this year’s Paramedic Services Week is Faces of Paramedicine. Whether it’s the person who responds to a medical emergency, the one who checks in on your elderly parent, or the one seen at mobile vaccination clinics, members of Nipissing Paramedic Services are there when needed in your community.

The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB) recognizes the important work and value of the more than 80 highly skilled and trained paramedics who work out of various bases in the District – North Bay, West Nipissing, Mattawa, South Algonquin and Temagami.

“The role of paramedics has expanded to beyond emergency calls over the years, particularly in the area of Community Paramedicine, and we are very fortunate that in a time of need, the paramedics and the people who support them are there to answer the call,” says DNSSAB Chair Mark King.
