Five new COVID cases locally over the Easter long weekend

The North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit, in its update at 11 a.m. reports five new cases over the Easter weekend.

There are now 11 active cases, with eight in Nipissing and three in Parry Sound District.

Of the five new cases, four are from close contact and the fifth through community spread.

It bring to 299 the total cases since the pandemic began.

There have been 21,314 doses administered, which is an increase of 3,718 since the last update on Thursday. That total represents 17.5 per cent of the Health Unit's population.

Meanwhile, the Sudbury Health unit reported its 23rd COVID-19 related death this weekend.
