Five new COVID cases Thursday

The North Bay Health Unit reports five new COVID cases today, bringing the total to 472 since the pandemic began.

There are 22 active cases, all in the Nipissing District.

Meanwhile, The Health Unit has released a new COVID-19 guide to Summer Activities page on its website today.

It has also been announced that there won't be any in-person graduation ceremonies locally this year. Instead, graduates will attend virtual events.

The Timiskaming Health Unit reports no new cases but two active cases.

The Sudbury Health Unit reports one new case and 19 active cases.

The Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit reports eight new cases. There are 222 active cases.

Starting June 14, Ontario will be accelerating second doses for communities particularly hard hit by COVID-19 and its variants, particularly communities with the highest rates of the Delta variant (B.1.617), like the Timmins region.
