The Northeast Region responded to five fires so far this fire season. Bancroft 1, reported on April 15, was called out at 3.0 hectares. With the recent snowfall throughout parts of the region and the forecasted rain this weekend, the fire hazard is expected to remain low in the northeast region.

Forest fire danger in Ontario can be hazardous any time of the year, so everyone needs to be careful with fire. Composting, chipping and removal to approved disposal facilities are safer options than burning.

You could be held responsible for the cost of putting out an unwanted fire or the damage that your fire does.
