VIDEO: Firefighters on scene of Main St. blaze

At least one person is in hospital, and a number of pet cats have been rescued

North Bay firefighters are still battling a fire at 439 Main St. East at 4 p.m. 

They were called to the scene at 3:27 p.m.

At least one person is in hospital.

"Crews got into the building and put out the majority of the fire," Fire Chief Jason Whiteley. "We're still looking for hotspots and trying to get into the attic to ensure everything is all right now."

Whiteley confirmed one person was injured. "They are also in custody with North Bay police. Obviously, the fire is being treated as suspicious."

A number of pet cats have been rescued. "We are searching for animals."
