Firefighters and MNRF join forces to rescue bear cub

Firefighters use Ladder One to rescue a cub

The North Bay Fire Department worked alongside Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry personnel to help rescue and tranquilize a lost bear cub that was reported up a tree along Memorial Drive this afternoon.

Instead of trying to pull the bear down, the firefighters used Ladder One and removed the tranquilized cub from the tree so MNRF personnel could capture and relocate the lone bear cub.
