A fairly new restaurant in the north end of the city is closing its doors.

The Miner’s Son restaurant on McKeown Avenue has been described as an eatery with an exciting concept of fresh foods, unique meats, craft beers and a Chefs Table.

Owner and Chef Nicholas Gignac made it official with a message on the Miner’s Son Facebook page.

“After much thought and deliberation, and with many big changes going on in both the landscape of small business in Ontario, and our personal lives, we have decided that after three incredible years in our humble brick building (and just over two years of operation), we are closing the doors here at the Miner’s Son in order for the Chef to move on to the next exciting chapter,” stated Gignac.

“It has been such a privilege to be a part of the great community here in North Bay, and plans are already underway to bring you the next great venture from Chef Nicolas.”

The ownership put the notice of the closure on its front door last week effective on June 12th.
