Canadian singer-songwriter Ria Mae has been named the final festival support act for the 2016 Summer in the Park event.

“Amazing Canadian talent,” said John Strang, Summer in the Park Chair in a press release.

“Ria Mae takes to the stage Friday night to open the show before Coleman Hell and Hedley.”

Ria Mae, who had a breakout year in 2015, keeps the momentum going with her second official single “Gold” which will appear in a full length album to be released on June 3. This track has already been streamed over one million times since its release in December. “Gold” follows up the enormously successful debut single “Clothes Off” which hit Top 10 at HOT AC Radio, was certified Gold in Canada, and garnered over1.8 million views on Vevo.

Ria was touted as 2015 “Next Big Thing” at CBC Music and “2016 Spotlight Artist” at Spotify Canada. Ria’s “Clothes Off” has also been nominated for “Single Of The Year” at the 2016 Juno Awards alongside Drake’s “Hotline Bling”, The Weeknd’s “I Can’t Feel My Face” and Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean”. Prior to releasing “Clothes Off”, Ria won an East Coast Music Award in 2012 for her self-released debut Under The Skin and was nominated for Song Of The Year in 2013 for her track “Leaving Today”. At this year’s EMCAs, Ria has been nominated for Fans’ Choice Video of the Year and Video Of The Year for “Clothes Off”.

Ria has performed at The Great Escape Festival in the UK, CMJ in New York City, Folk Alliance in Memphis, Canadian Music Week in Toronto, and M for Montreal. She has shared the stage with Classified, Elle King, Hedley, Family of the Year, Xavier Rudd, Buck 65, Naughty By Nature, and Coleman Hell among others.
