MPP Vic Fedeli has once again been acclaimed as the Progressive Conservative candidate for the upcoming 2018 Ontario election.

During the party meeting yesterday, Fedeli highlighted some of 2016 successes including the implementation of his Private Member’s Bill, which introduced the life-saving Patch4Patch program across Ontario. The Patch4Patch program originated in North Bay and was created as a direct response to fentanyl overdoses happening throughout the riding, province, and country.fentanyl overdoses happening throughout the riding, province, and country.

Fedeli also highlighted the successful fight to remove measures in the Wynne government’s 2016 Budget that would have significantly increased the price of prescription drugs for seniors.

“In last year’s budget, the Liberal government was attempting to double the price of prescription drugs for seniors. It would have punished our most vulnerable seniors, many who are on fixed incomes. We started a fight ‘Stand by our Seniors,’ right here in North Bay and successfully got that section removed from the budget,” said Fedeli.

Looking forward to 2017, Fedeli will be continuing work on his new Private Member’s Bill to make financial literacy mandatory for Grade 10 students, further exposing the dire state of Ontario’s finances through his Focus on Finance series, and fighting against the Wynne government’s failed energy policies that have led to skyrocketing hydro prices says a news release.

“The Ontario PC Caucus will continue to expose the Wynne government’s waste, mismanagement, and scandals and demonstrate why Ontario needs a change in direction come 2018,” Fedeli said.

Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown praised Fedeli.

“Since he was first elected in 2011, Vic has been a stellar Member of Provincial Parliament in our Ontario PC Caucus. As our Finance Critic, Vic is a prominent voice exposing Liberal scandal and holding the government to account over their disastrous economic record.

“With his experiences as an MPP, the Mayor of North Bay, and as a local business owner, I know Vic understands the challenges and opportunities Nipissing faces. I have the utmost confidence that Vic will continue to work extremely hard on behalf of his community, and will hold the Wynne Liberals accountable.
