Family loses everything in home explosion

The family cat died in the explosion but the family dogs survived and are recovering at a local shelter

Novar, north of Huntsville, Canada Post Rural Delivery agent Denise Stoneman and her family lost everything in a Saturday morning house explosion caused by a propane tank.

The explosion completely destroyed their home and all of their belongings including the family truck. She and her husband George avoided serious injuries.

Stoneman's nephew, Noah Ambeau suffered extensive burns and will be in the Intensive care unit at Sick kids for the next few weeks.

Sadly, the family cat died in the explosion but the family dogs survived and are recovering at a local shelter.

Friends have started a Gofundme page hoping to raise $10,000 to help the family. They have raised over $7,000 in one day.

Friends are also accepting other donations of gifts and clothing to help during the holidays. Items can be dropped at the post office at 2 Main St. West, Huntsville, between 8:30 a.m.  and 5:30 p.m.

Main St. Local Kitchen in Huntsville is also collecting donations and holding a fundraising day on Dec. 15.
