This old railway bridge will carry traffic until work is completed on the Cook's creek culvert.

A detour around the Cook's Creek culvert replacement project on Pinewood Park Drive starts this week. The detour around the construction area is expected to be established as early as Wednesday.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane by way of traffic signals. Drivers will be able to access Decaire Road from Pinewood Park Drive, but access to Pinewood Park Drive from Decaire Road will not be permitted.

A load posting restriction (single vehicle unit = 13 tonnes, two-vehicle units = 23 tonnes, three-vehicle units = 31 tonnes) will be implemented given the age and condition of the former railway bridge being used for the detour.

Works are anticipated to be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting.

"Please drive with care through the construction zone. Due to potential delays and load restrictions, motorists and heavy truck traffic are encouraged to use Highway 11," says a City news release.
