Families that were evacuated from their homes near Powassan yesterday afternoon have been allowed to return.
The order was lifted around 9 p.m. Thursday.
OPP ordered people out of a 1 km radius of a transport accident that had spilled diesel fuel onto Highway 11 northbound just before noon. All lanes north and south were closed between McCharles Line-Pinetree Way-Main St. in Powassan and Peever Line-Golf Course Line-Pinetree Way.
Police say no one was injured in the single commercial motor vehicle accident. A detour was in place.on Highway 534.
