The North Bay OPP has made an arrest in connection with a break, enter and theft that took place overnight at the East Ferris Fire Department, Astorville Complex, East Ferris Ontario.

In the early hours of Tuesday April 18th, 2006, there was a forced entry into the Astorville East Ferris Fire Department Complex. A large yellow rescue cube van (Emergency Response Vehicle) was stolen. Powassan OPP received a report that the vehicle was observed in a ditch on River Road, Chisholm Township, shortly after 5:30 a.m. this morning. Police arrested a male later this morning following the recovery of the rescue van. The van sustained substantial damage during the incident.

The investigation is continuing.
