This seems a little odd, but it appears legal to break into a hunt camp in an emergency situation.

North Bay OPP say on March 4, officers responded to a break and enter into a residence on Hawthorne Drive in Patterson Township.

They began an investigation and found that, sometime between December 15, 2017, and March 4, 2018, someone broke into a hunt camp by breaking a window.

Clothing items were found to be missing from the camp.

"While it is not illegal to utilize a residence for warmth in an emergency, those responsible must leave personal information at the scene, pay for damage and repair damage before leaving," says Provincial Constable Shona Camirand.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the North Bay OPP at (705) 495-3878 or toll free at 1-888-310-1122.
