Elementary teachers to participate in job action this Tuesday

All elementary schools will be closed to students on Tuesday, December 18. Near North elementary teachers are participating in job action at our elementary schools for one day.

Secondary schools will remain open to secondary students in grades 9-12.

During this job action, we can’t ensure the safety of elementary students in grades (JK-8). Please make alternate child care arrangements.

Our elementary schools will re-open on Wednesday.
If your elementary child rides a school bus, he or she will not be picked up as transportation services will not be available for your child. Buses will pick up secondary students.

Parents should contact their school-based daycares for specific information on availability of programs on this day. Picketing may occur at elementary schools.
We understand and sincerely regret this disruption for our students, staff, and families. If any further action is expected, we will again inform you in as timely fashion as is possible.
