Egging all part of the West Nipissing police report

West Nipissing police, in their weekly report say on February 3rd, a homeowner called the police to report that someone had egged her house and vehicle. Police attended the Montreal street home and located two sets of foot impressions in the snow. The officer took photographs of the footwear and followed the tracks to a business parking lot. The damage the home and vehicle was minimal however did require cleaning.

On Monday February 6th , police investigated the theft of a cellular telephone from a Rainville Road resident. Police learned that the accused went into the victim’s residence/office. Once inside the accused was seen entering the lunch room. This was also captured on security video. The complainant did not want to confront the accused knowing her as being violent. After the accused left the office, the complainant and victim went into the residence for lunch. At that time the complainant went to the basement to hide his cell phone but noticed that it had been stolen by the accused. The cell phone was not locked and was accessed by the accused. She purposely searched for the cell phone and stole it. She is further in possession of personal photos. The accused was located, arrested and faces a charge of theft, breach of undertaking and mischief.

On February 7, the complainant called the West Nipissing Police to report that while at the corner of Holditch St and Queen St she observed the accused walking on the opposite side of the street with two grocery bags in hand. The accused faced charges of criminal harassment but had been released from custody with conditions that he reside in North Bay, remain within his home and that he not communicate or be around the complainant. The complainant walked towards her residence and observed the accused was walking in the same direction that she was, but on the opposite side of the street. She went inside her residence and observed the accused standing with his hands crossed looking towards her. Police attended a Queen Street residence and learned that the accused was residing there. The accused was located and arrested for Breach of Recognizance of Bail. He was read his rights to counsel and transported to the West Nipissing Police Service where he spoke with duty counsel and held for Bail Court.

On February 7th a Caron Road resident contacted the police to report that someone had gone into his garage and vehicle during the night. The complainant stated that he noticed that his garage door was open and it looked like some of his items had been moved. The complainant was uncertain if anything was missing but would check and notify police. Police encourage residents to contact them if they observe suspicious vehicles, people or activity.

Between February 3 rd and 9th, the West Nipissing Police Service logged 154 calls for service. Among those were 11 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 26 police assistance calls, two domestic disturbance calls, four thefts, two unwanted person complaints, and one mischief complaint.
