An 88-year-old North Bay woman was killed Sunday morning around 11:40 after being struck by a city bus at the corner of McIntyre and Ferguson.

The woman was taken to the North Bay General Hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead later in the day, said Sgt. Bryan Crown.

Her identity and that of the bus driver who struck her will be released Tuesday, Sgt. Crown said.

The woman may have been returning home from Easter church services, although Crown said he wasn’t able to confirm that at this moment.

Cst. Gainforth and Cst. Neely, of the traffic division, are investigating the incident.
