The Ontario government says it's delivering more efficient customer service with the launch of E-licence options for anglers and hunters.

PETERBOROUGH — The Ontario government is enhancing its electronic licensing system to make it easier and more convenient for Ontarians to go hunting and fishing, Natural Resources Minister David Ramsay announced today.

"With the e-licence option, anglers and hunters will be able to instantly print a copy of their e-licence from the Internet and immediately go hunting or fishing rather than waiting several weeks for their Outdoors Card to arrive in the mail," said Ramsay, who renewed his Outdoors Card over the Internet today at a home in Peterborough. "We've received a lot of requests for this type of service. We've listened and are delivering modern, efficient and more cost-effective public services."

Ontario residents whose Outdoors Cards have expired can use the e-licence option to renew their card and purchase three-year or one-year licences for fishing or small game hunting by visiting the outdoors cards website at www.outdoorscard.mnr.gov.on.ca. Residents with a valid Outdoors Card can also purchase one-year licences online without having to visit a licence issuer.

Until now, Ontarians who didn't renew until late December had to wait until their cards arrived in the mail - missing out on early January ice fishing opportunities. Now they can print their e-licence from the comfort of their own home, 24 hours a day, and go fishing or hunting that same day.
