A sharp-eyed off-duty OPP officer resulted in a large number of drugs taken off the streets Friday.
On September 13, at 8:40 a.m., members of the Warren Detachment of the OPP got a report from an off-duty officer about a suspicious vehicle on Nipissing Street in Markstay-Warren.
Officers found and stopped the vehicle. Investigation revealed the driver was wanted by Greater Sudbury Police Service, as well as suspected to be impaired by drugs and was arrested.

Shortly thereafter, the female passenger was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
With the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit, officers seized a large number of drugs suspected to be ''Purple and Pink'' Heroin, a Taser, an expandable baton and a large amount of cash.
Police say the street value of the drugs is approximately $270,000.
The driver, Chad Jodrey, 32, from Sudbury, is charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
- Possession of a prohibited device
- Operation while impaired - drugs
- Two counts of failing to comply with recognizance.
The passenger, Ashley Labonte, 32, from Sudbury is charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
- Possession of a prohibited device
Officers from the OPP North East Region Community Street Crime Unit and the Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit are assisting with the investigation.
Jodrey and Labonte remain in custody pending a bail hearing today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury.
