Drug bust in Sundridge

A robbery complaint has lead to the seizure of cocaine and marijuana.

On September 28th, 2004 OPP Drug Enforcement led Project “Gateway “ (a joint investigation between members of the Ontario Provincial Police and North Bay Police service), assisted members of the Almaguin Highlands OPP detachment execute a Criminal Code search warrant at a trailer situated at 9 Main Street in the town Of Sundridge.

Once inside the officers observed a quantity of suspected Cocaine, Marihuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. The officers drafted and executed a second search warrant under Section 11 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), that when executed, resulted in the seizure of cocaine, marijuana, stolen property and cash. A female and three males were arrested at the scene. A Bracebridge resident, who had traveled to the area on the 27th of September to purchase drugs, initiated these enforcement actions. In the wee hours of the 28th the male was forced to hand over cash and personnel belongings to pay for the cocaine. Upon leaving 9 Main Street the male dialed 9-1-1. The Almaguin Highlands O.P.P initiated a police investigation.

Value of items seized:

Cocaine – estimated street value $6000;

Marijuana – estimated street value $1800;

Cash seized = $5428.

Vehicle ownership, car amp, scales, packaging and grow equipment.
