Opp investigated an accident at the intersection of Highway 17 and Gormanville Rd. around 7:30 this morning which caused some traffic lanes to be closed. A van smashed into a traffic light standard bringing the pole down.
Conveniently, the accident happened just yards from the local OPP detachment.
The roads were snow-covered at the time.
Environment Canada says we are in for 5 cm of snow before it clears tonight.
Expect blowing snow and poor road conditions as the winds become west 20 km/h gusting to 40 late this afternoon.
